Gridwars
Gridwars is very similar to an Xbox 360 game that shall remain unnamed.
The feel of the game is like a classic arcade game where to blink is to lose. Stuck on a 2D plane, you must pit your ship against an ever increasing range of enemies. The longer you last, the more powerups you get - but the enemies become more complex and cunning to match. Totally addictive, and requires oodles of caffeine to stay on top of.
Sadly, it's not a flash game you can play in your browser - this one's a download.
I recommend using the keyboard as the controller - the default is the mouse, but you'll get more control out of the keys - especially if you're used to playing FPS games.
Also, if you don't want to play fullscreen, just edit Config.Txt and change the obvious option!
